Brewer Gold Mine Superfund Site

Status:
CURRENT

The 2000 acre former gold mine was abandoned decades ago leaving EPA the task of managing millions of gallons of contaminated water year after year. ERT, with its teammate, Pancontinental Resource Corporation, were selected by EPA to determine if redevelopment of the mine was feasible. ERT and Pancon entered into an option agreement to buy the land with the Receiver for the property in 2019 and are working on proving up a resource.

ERT’s role in the project will be to own the land and financially assure the cleanup all while leasing portions of the property to a mining operator. In addition to addressing legacy surface water issues, ERT will be reducing the volume of millions of tons of waste residuals on the property as part of its long term stewardship.
